People we work with….

As Planning Consultants, we are but a small part of most projects - important Yes, as you need permission to build developments, but we have to rely on other experts and a wider team to help inform the process. For smaller projects this can be an architect or urban designer but for larger projects the disciplines involved can be considerable. This page is aimed at assisting clients with some options we are happy to recommend, having worked together for a long time and where we have mutual respect. We hope this helps in team assembly and the absence of any particular company is not due to their abilities. We are seeking to assist like minded small companies.

Local Practices - Design related

  • Wall Architecture - Bristol based Architects

We have known Tom Wall for a long time when he worked at AWW Architects. Since then, he has established his own architectural company and we have worked together on numerous proposals of a small scale. Either assisting Tom on an appeal where a proposal has been refused by the Council or working together on householder applications.

His service is excellent and he is a helpful and innovative architect. He also provided the drawings for my own property and office.

  • Peak Urban Design - Bristol based

Alan worked with John Armstrong when they were at RPS in the early - mid 2000s. John was a planner but retrained in urban design as he wanted to take more creative direction. If you need a layout, DAS, or design advice then Peak can provide you with a great service.

John provides feasibility work, concept plans, character appraisals and outline and full planning application work.

  • ConsultNHD - Nigel Dyke - Concept Architect - Bristol based

ConsultNHD is a Property and Development Consultancy. I have known Nigel for most of my working life and worked together on a variety of interesting projects during his time at Alec French Architects.

Now with his own consultancy business, Nigel offers early stage architectural and development advice including brief writing and feasibility studies during the early stages of projects. He has a particular interest in the creative use of existing buildings including listed buildings and retrofit.
